Sunday morning paddle

Toby and I were up early ish and had a great paddle on the soar backwater. Starting in Loughborough, North on the grand Union canal and the upstream on the river soar. This is the bit the canal boats can't use. Really beautiful section of River. Some sections of faster moving water which made a good workout going up stream. At one point the river was quite narrow and blocked by dead reeds. A bit of digging with our paddles and we cleared the blockage and carried on. Stopped on an island for a snack and then a far easier page back to the start. One of the best local trips we've had.
