Three-lined Hoverfly

A native hoverfly. I thought it was a blowfly in the kitchen and was about to swat it when I noticed that strange tail. I should have also noticed that the buzz was a lot louder than a blowfly’s. I was able to capture it in the bumblebee rescue bottle to take outside.
