A New Tune.

Well, new to me but it is a very old tune. There is a whole page of small print devoted to its origins in the Traditional Tunes Archive  here https://tunearch.org/wiki/Annotation:Fisher%27s_Hornpipe. There is considerable debate as to who Fisher might have been back in the mid 18th century. Also although it's a hornpipe sometimes it's a reel.?!
I went along to the Village Club to play traditional music with a great group of local people who get together occasionally just to play together for fun. It transpires that we have a we have a 'gig' booked, playing at the village primary school Christmas fair in a few weeks time. This is a tune everyone else knows so I'll need to do some work on it.
