My Name5 Doddie Foundation.

Big game at Murrayfield today, my wife and I watched on TV. To think 21 years ago yesterday was our first game there as a rugby family! It was Canada. This afternoon it was Scotland v All Blacks, Autumn Nations Series. At 64 mins it was 23-17; then a yellow for Scotland, and opposition scored in that time. Great game for fans (till then!). That was turning point - Scotland lost 23-31.

This is the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation tartan, they’re a registered charity raising funds to aid research into Motor Neuron Disease and supporting sufferers. The tartan was displayed as the number on the Scotland players strip today. The charity was established 5 years ago. Doddie Weir, wife and sons, were involved in the March ball presentation and applauded by the full house crowd. Emotional to watch, his continued demise very sad to see.*

*The death of Doddie was announced on 26 November 2022.
