Mono Monday - John Muir Silhouette

This is the memorial to Dunbar's most famous former resident , John Muir, He was one of the early pioneers of the Natural Park movement in the USA and a great friend of Ansel Adams, the photographer. The sculpture pictures him as a young boy responding to nature in the form of a couple pf gulls. Sadly the silhouette had to be taken from the back of the statue as it faces south but the frontal view is even more impressive (though I guess in silhouette format the actual shape should remain the same !)
