The Boat of many Colours

Another wild day - gale force winds, torrential downpours but a bit of sunshine in between.I have just wandered down to Luc's place after a hectic day at work, dodging the showers and exhilarating in the wildness. Luc is a fisherman and lobstercatcher - his place is littered with vessels, mostly made by himself. This is his little harbour, also made by himself. I just love the multi-colours of this boat, in the process of being rubbed down and restored. Behind you can see his lobster boat, beautifully painted in black, and his little sailing ketch plus dinghy. I love the colourful eyes painted on to ward off evil.

Having Indian connections (however dubious) I offered to help the big room make an Indian meal, as part of their work on India. The baby belling was dug out and we went to work. An hour later a feast of dhal, fragrant basmati rice, raita and naan bread was produced. The curry paste was made from scratch, everyone having a good sniff of the spices first. Nothing remained!! Only one boy went pale. I need a lie down now!
