Mossy trunk

All the birch trees along the stream are covered in moss which, for some reason unknown to me, grows in this peculiar pattern. I know I’ve blipped this once before but I find it quite fascinating.
It was a dry day which was very welcome and I managed to tidy up the garden a bit more. It’s again possible to walk along the path to the door without standing on overgrown perennials and wandering alpine strawberry plants.
