Find the Fox

We spotted an Arctic Fox peacefully sleeping about 30 ft from where the Tundra Rovers were driving by. See the first Extra...for a look at a Rover. The fox was well hidden in plain sight. She was amazingly well camouflaged. See the second Extra... It was a beautifully overcast day and snow flurries blew off and on during most of it. All of this light snowfall made it a bit more difficult to see the animals. We did see a flock of Ptarmigans Lagopus, small birds in the grouse subfamily. They are in their winter white feathers and were not easy to spot. See the third Extra...
We did see several bears today. We watched a female and her two cubs for quite a while. They were a distance away and it was snowing so my photos are a little unusual but I think somewhat Artsy. Check the fourth Extra...Mom and her cubs were walking away from us toward the ice field. Probably to check the hardness of the ice on Hudson Bay. We saw this little family later in the day, so she must have determined that the ice was not solid enough and so brought her cubs back inland. Tomorrow we tour Churchill, MB. Watch this space.
