Peacock Alley

While waiting for a US journalist & her husband this morning in the newly refurbished Caledonian Waldorf Astoria, this is the area newly named Peacock Alley, a wonderful spacious lounge. When the hotel was opened on 1903, this was the thoroughfare into the Princes Street Railway Station ( not that I remember that!! ) the station closed in the 1960s?
I did work at the "Caley" for quite a few years, it's so wonderful to see it back to the luxury it was!
You may notice the clock on the wall, the old station clock! Taken with my phone, hadn't taken digital camera as thought it was going to be a da of heavy rain! Wrong!
However the ever present east wind was strong!
Had a lovely tour, Edinburgh was very busy today!! Lots & lots of visitors at the Castle!
