Negative space

There's something about the way the staircase and fence defines that square of light, as the fence adds some perspective. I haven't quite captured what caught my eye...and it would've been better if there had been sky rather than trees in the top right corner...

...but cutting down trees for the perfect blip is too far...isn't it?
