Golden rain

The beautiful silver birch outside kept me company all day today, an extremely sad day at work.

Home to a text from old landlord competing strongly for the shit landlord of the century award. Considering he’s ill he’s able to put the most astonishing amount of energy into this.
Insert all known expletives here ...
Good ol’ craggy has been pushed to the point of using the c word when I sent him a copy of the text.
However, I hope the line is drawn now and I look forward to deleting any and all references to him, in particular, getting rid of his WhatsApp avatar photo off my phone.

Mary Oliver needed for such moments....

When I Am Among the Trees

When I am among the trees,
especially the willows and the honey locust,
equally the beech, the oaks and the pines,
they give off such hints of gladness.
I would almost say that they save me, and daily.

I am so distant from the hope of myself,
in which I have goodness, and discernment,
and never hurry through the world
but walk slowly, and bow often.

Around me the trees stir in their leaves
and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.

And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say,
“and you too have come
into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled
with light, and to shine.”
