Elgin "marbles"

Nearly done with the backblips.
The forecast promised wet today but as it was dry after breakfast we decided it was time for a run, the first since Saturday. We did roughly the same circuit but Mr Rat made his longer by going on oart of it by road rather than railway and the consequence was we met up twice. I went a bit further than intended and my leg complained for the last bit but it was generally better than expected.
Once recovered we set off cross country for a walk in a country park, only to discover a vital bridge was closed and the diversion would have added an extra 10 miles approx. so we just headded into Elgin.
It was damp and chilly but the cathedral was open so we wandered round the ruins and looked at the exhibitions in the towers. There are mainly pieces of carved stones rescued from the ruins and it's amazing to see the intricate carving in detail.
Then we needed warming up so lunch in a cafe, followed by some shopping which included the whisky shop. We had wanted to visit the distillery near to our lodge but it was closed for a couple of days so the shop had to suffice.
Back to the lodge before the rain get heavier and a lazy evening.
