Isle Of Skye - day 5

Our final full day for photography here on Skye has arrived already. And our goal is to make the most of it. The rain has dissapeared and circumstances are looking much better today.

We left our cottage around 7.00 am and arrived at our first location of the day 45 minutes later: The Quiraing at the Trotternish Ridge.
What majestic views were presented to us once again. We soon found our spots where we awaited the sun to rise. And, the sun díd rise. Once above a layer of clouds colours were bursting all over the place.

What last Wednesday at the Storr didn't happen, was made up for today.
We all kept on exposing, changing from wide angle to tele lenses and back again. It felt good to collect one image after the other in the box.

When the light had become too harsh we moved to the Fairy Glen.
We walked through scenes of miniature mountains but didn't really get our gear out. It was nice to see it, but (mainly because of the light) not suited for real landscape photography. But we didn't mind that. We were still excited by the sunrise we just had seen.

A quick lunch in the car, and then we set course to Neist Point, another one hour drive.
When we arrived and opened the doors of our rental Volvo, we were blown away once again. Not by the views this time, but by a fierce wind. A wind like we have never experienced ever before. Windforce 11 was an understatement.
Nevertheless we managed to walk through boggy grasses to the cliff where we had a great view at the lighthouse of Neist Point.

We had to stay very very low, to not be blown away. Our caps and glasses couldn't stay on our head and had to be tucked away in our coats.
It really was a battle to get any sharp picture taken.

But, we won the battle and all managed to capture a few nice ones. (there's one in the extra section.)

With this windy experience our photography tour had come to an end.

Tonight is our last night at Skye. Tomorrow morning we're going back to the airport in Inverness again, where KLM will get us back to Schiphol Amsterdam.
