Spin.

Whatever story you're telling, it will be more interesting if, at the end you add, ''and then everything burst into flames.''

-- Brian P. Cleary, You Oughta Know By Now

A busy busy day full of school visits and rehearsals and schedules and proof reading and youth theatre and ... and ... and ...

The final youth theatre session today - my 11-13s - span lots of tall tales using a collection of objects and photos as stimulus. There were some simple stories, some downright crazy stories, and it'd be fair to say that a significant number included people being struck down dead.

They would have totally loved it if I'd let them end all the tales with ''and then everything burst into flames.''

There were ghosts, witches, long lost friends, lightning storms, llamas, secret government plans belonging to Winston Churchill, and a surprising amount of dandruff-themed stories. Well, they are nothing if not imaginative!

See big
