Christmas lights already?

There is this grand big spruce in a garden nearby my home and for the last two decades the owners have always turned on its beautiful Christmas lights on the first Sunday of Advent. No sooner or later.
But last night the lights had already been turned on! What??
I've noticed this tendency to begin decorating for Christmas earlier and earlier, but some people (like me!) have stuck to the tradition of decorating only when Advent season is upon us. 
 
Daníel got caught up in the excitement and decided today was the day to decorate the balcony railings with spruce garlands and lights. 
 
Harumph..... bahumbug....my inner Grinch is rather annoyed with how things have developed here in the neighbourhood!
