Here we go again!

Hotel Biron (Musée Rodin)

I saw the "Rêve d'Égypte" show at the Rodin Museum this afternoon and quite enjoyed it. Although he never travelled to Egypt, Rodin was very interested in Egyptian sculpture and textiles and acquired quite an extensive collection. His pieces were on display, a few altered by him, and there were good explanations in the show of who his art dealers were and how he acquired the works. It seems he bought a lot around 1914 as he made plans to leave his work to the state, envisioning his future museum as a place where budding sculptors could view models from different traditions as a way to learn.

It was a pretty rainy day, but the sun came out for a little while in the afternoon and I managed to time that perfectly with my walk in the museum gardens.
