The tome now standing at platform one

We had to leave the cottage by noon, but before heading home there was time for a visit to the excellent Barter Books.

A bookshop in an old railway station? It's like they made it just for me.

Although it's dog-friendly, Stella's not really bookshop-friendly. She was too excitable for the café and we ended up cutting our visit short.

Instead we had lunch at a place we'd seen on yesterday's visit to Lindisfarne. The Barn at Beal was happy to welcome dogs (even daft ones) and had fine views too.

As the sky was just starting to turn pink, we headed back up the road.
