Walking this morning to Marks and Spencer’s we came across the remains of a tree which had recently received the attention of the tree surgeons. We wondered why such extensive surgery was necessary as the wood didn’t look diseased. I hope the trunk remains to provide an ecosystem as the wood decays.

A frustrating time at M&S as now most of the tolls are self serve there are not enough staff around to deal with issues. In the end our problem was not resolved. Coffee was good, although expensive!

I was as far away from home as it was possible to get by on our walk when I got the call from the company who were collecting the Skoda for repair. Hot footing it home I arrived just as they did. Phew!

An afternoon knocking many administrative tasks on the head while Susan was in her studio focussing on her Christmas card for this year.

No news so far today from California. It’s just after 10.00am there.
