Shifting

Had time for some tea and toast and a chat with T before I went down to P’s this morning. His friend K was there so we shifted the furniture around to set the new TV up properly then moved his old stereo system (!), CDs, DVD player and speakers out to the garage. Put the dining table in my car to take up to A&N’s (although a slight misunderstanding led to K starting to smash it up thinking I was taking it to the dump….eek!….bless him he quickly set up his workbench to repair it all).
The sitting room looks a lot better now, less cluttered. Once again P enjoyed watching the football and was happy to sit and be amused by that so wasn’t worrying about sorting papers etc. I made him salmon and veg for lunch which he ate well, then spoke to the GP and cleaned the kitchen. Sorted out the council waste collection and the audiologist to come next week for a home visit, then another trip to Sainsburys.
Spent an hour clearing the study…oh boy what a task which I’ve been putting off for so long. Filled two black bags and identified some sets of stuff I can let him sift through, as well as taking down a box of cards, stamps and address book so he can write some Christmas cards for people.
Joined a zoom call after lunch but felt a bit like drafting by committee, then settled P with his early supper and drove down to see Mt&H and the wee ones. They loved the little Christmas slippers I’d bought them - blurry photo as they were both jigging about as I took this!- and I heard all about their recent adventures including camping with Beavers and visiting Lapland (near Windsor!) and achievements. Both getting great feedback at parents’ evening although very different from each other, and saw some of Mx’s schoolwork where he’d drawn AR and said she was the person who he looked to for support…how cute (will it last I wonder?!).
Chatted to H about her plans once she finishes her course, and to Mt about a huge online presentation he’d just finished ….obviously it’s been a pressured time for him but he seemed to think it went well.
Home and picked up fish and chips for supper…delicious! Chatted to Kt about running, stretching exercises, Christmas ‘do’ outfits and her work where things are slowing down a bit worryingly. Good day….not as hard as I’d expected but a lot more still to do..
