Enjoying The Sunshine

I spotted this bird high up in a tree behind our house…it looked as though it was enjoying the late afternoon sunshine.

I like the way the shiny black feathers contrasted with the blue sky and bright yellow leaves - I like the catchlight in the eye too.

Now I am no twitcher - so am unsure exactly what sort of Corvid it is..my best guess is crow..but maybe a juvenile as I think the top of the head still looks a bit fluffy! It was certainly making a racket and as it flew off I could see it was quite large!!

It does look good in LARGE!
