End of the road

Managed to continue with the clearance of Summer bedding, in between the showers one of which produced hailstones bigger than frozen peas. This Clematis is normally cut back to ground level by mid October when it naturally dies back but this year in view of an unexpected late flush of flowers it was spared the pruners - until now. With more wind and rain forecast there was little point in letting it continue. A different story with a containerised fuchsia  ( see extra ) which I moved to the greenhouse for over wintering
