Big Hill

A very busy day!

Started with having to dig the winter tires out from under the snow out back...note to self: (put them inside the shed for next year!!!).  then off to Joey's - his garage is awesome....reminds me of my studio, a bit messy :)   I had an hour to pass so i found a seat and did a bit of reading!!   Then Terry came down with the truck to have it's winter tires put on....and so we both headed home for the afternoon.

Some glazing was done and then not only did i load the kiln for firing but before that i did a monumental job that has been nagging at me for months years!!! The bottom shelves on the kiln were showing signs of disasters.....they don't rotate like my other shelves....long story short - they needed to be replaced!   Now given the fact that i am only 5' 3" with shortish arms and legs....i almost got stuck inside the kiln as i tried to replace these shelves!!! It is a rather deep kiln!  Very frustrating....so of course i had to call on Terry to give me a hand.   But i have to say it was well worth it, cos now i can basically use the whole shelf instead of having to dance around nasty glaze spots!

Got kiln on around 4.30pm....next we had to drive down to get the truck and then i headed into town for some groceries....oh and pizza!!!   It's Terry's birthday today so i'm treating him! i'm too tired to cook :)
