Kilt Rocks

After a disappointing stay in the Raasay House Hotel (which, despite all efforts, was not really ready for visitors after restoration following a disastrous fire in 2009) we planned to tour the island of Raasay. We drove to the end of Calum's Road with a very brief view of an eagle. However, the weather was foul, enough for reports of ferry disruption, so we hot-footed to catch the midday ferry back to Skye, to avoid being stranded, without even stopping to take a blip.

This gave us time, before finding our B&B in Staffin, to plod round Portree and to visit the Kilt Rocks and Mealt waterfall from the viewpoint. Interestingly, the safety railings doubled as an aeolian instrument as the fierce wind drove through holes in the structure.
