Winter beach

We went to St Bees and had lunch at Hartleys cafe there. The tide was fully in with huge waves breaking onto the promenade throwing up sizeable pebbles.
We walked along to Fleswick bay but with the tide in, the chocolatey smooth rocks weren't visible. We had intended to carry on up to St Bees  lighthouse, but we hadn't left ourselves quite enough time.
I realised I had lost my lens cap so we retraced our walk back to St bees but didn't find it. Annoying!
Once nearly back at the car the sun was going down and the waves had completely died down to a rather serene scene.
Extra is a little newt of some sort we found crossing the cliff path.
