Cash

I like it!  Many of my friends don’t!  I always like having  some in a back pocket, no doubt because my dad had wads in his front pockets, always.  When, eventually, he bought our long-awaited upgrade motor car in 1976 that I, personally, had been campaigning for since I was eight years old (a full eight years before), he paid £2,300 in cash, about 25k in modern terms…he just put it all on the lounge table as the salesman delivered it to our door - a Tacoma white Chrysler Alpine.
