today we made a robot

We walked to the Drs today to get my prescription and had to go to 3 different pharmacies (which, incidentally, have nothing to do with either farmers or the sea) so i let the nut visit a charity shop, where he found a pristine make your own robot kit for only 2.50. The Nut likes robots (with domed heads especially. like R2D2 or Daleks) and he likes making robots out of things, so this robot was particularly desirable.

Plus, I got a 'good job mama' when I plugged his eyes into the circuit board and made them light up, which warms the heart. The robot follows a black line drawn on white paper. The nut loved him. He gave him a cuddle. He's been searching for the elusive 'chip robot' since he broke a small toy he bought at a boot sale for 30p.

'I'm going to call him chip' he announced.

he remained very happy all day except for a small while after he dropped chip and we have to disassemble him for repairs.

*the Nut has all his own names for starwars angry birds, which are strangely more suitable and casually related to thier actual names. Han Solo is 'landing han', luke skywalker ('the red bird, with the funky hair') is 'skyhawker bird' and chewbacca is 'cocoabird'. Makes sense to me.
