The wilds of Derbyshire

A walk over the river and into Wetherby again as we’d espied a hipster coffee shop the night before. We weren’t disappointed - and met a lovely couple (she originally from Bishopbriggs) - and gosh, her friend’s best friend was the cousin of Donovan! And yes, just sitting’s maw is Donovan’s cousin too! Probably different cousins.
On south under blue skies to the Matlock tiddlywinks. And come teatime, after shed inspection, I was taken for a TTP to the Bentley Brook Microbrewery! A great place in old mill buildings. Briefly back to watch the first half of England v US and out again - to Wirksworth. Firstly a fabulous bar - achingly hip in a genuinely hippy way, The Red Lion. And then across the lane to Umami. What a triff fine Friday night they had laid on.
The SK decided to treat them in return by buying tickets to visit some caves in Nottingham on the following day. I don’t know what’s happened but we’ve got tickets instead for the Museum of Justice. There may be a lesson there.
