Advent

This is the first Sunday in advent. Traditionally in churches the first advent candle is lit. It is normally purple.. Recalling the royal line of Emmanuel.. It is called the Hope candle.
Hope is not simply optimism. Hope is a spiritual value. It involves faith and trust.
These are values much needed in today's world where many are hope-less.
