Say Hello To Sean

I thought it was about time some poor soul at work was accosted and photographed. As it was Sean's birthday this week it only seemed fair to get a picture of this yoof.

Sean is one of the laminators in our composite shop.

For those not in the know, the laminators take a tacky carbon fibre cloth and lay up layer upon layer of this in various orientations. The orientation of the cloth determines where the strength of the fabric runs on the parts. The fabric has to be carefully positioned and trimmed to fit around the curvature of the components and all the sharp corners and funny edges. The tackiness of the fabric is the glue or resin that glues all the layers together when it is cooked under pressure in the autoclave that Sean is stood in front of.
