Breakey Blips

Portpatrick Christmas Fayre

This was such a lovely event. Despite being postponed for a day due to really bad weather, it was very busy.
Families crowded in, buying stocking fillers like ours and more luxurious gifts too. The brass band played carols and then on cue - 'when Santa got stuck in the chimney' just as Santa appeared through the specially provided fireplace!
The children had been busy making lanterns and they all disappeared  with Santa and his entourage ( it felt a tiny, worrying bit like the Pied Piper, but no one else was worrying). At a given moment, the kids 'switched' on the lights and then accompanied Santa on his musical and brightly lit float, pulled by a tractor, back down to the harbour.

Our stall went well, and apart from the terrible racket caused by the tent structure rattling in the wind, we had a lovely afternoon. My extra is the lobster pot interpretation of a Christmas tree - very appropriate for a fishing village.
