Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Goodbye Jane!

Another lovely, sunny, windless day - we’re being spoiled.

JR went off to the gym, Denise came to take Archie out and I did a wee job that I’ve been meaning to do for ages (Archie’s calendar).

Jane came round to say goodbye, and was disappointed to find that Archie wasn’t here. Her month in Edinburgh went so quickly! She has a long journey back, with an overnight stay in London, a 10 hour wait at Toronto, then a flight to Ottawa. Rather her than me…

Had a good browse through the South Africa holiday brochure, and checked out the websites of hotels mentioned. We’ll get Hazel over to put her penny’s worth in, as she’s just been there. Then we’ll go down and consult the young man who will look after us. Got to plan ahead!

I took Archie out in the afternoon, popping in to see Dougal and his mum. Christine was having a visit later in the afternoon by a dog behaviourist, as Dougal has developed an unsociable habit of barking when in cafes. This is NOT on, Dougal!

We walked round the Meadows in the afternoon light, and then hurried home - it gets cold so quickly.

We watched the final of IAC Get Me Out of Here! I was pleased that the nice soccer player won it. Second place was the rather sweet Owen lad who was always so hungry he’d eat absolutely anything!
