Arne

Started off a bit grey and decidedly chilly, but the plan read ‘walk to Arne’. So we made our sandwiches and at 10 to 10 set off for the RSPB reserve. There was some drizzle and we were glad to sit in the cafe for a coffee and warm up. Then off to walk the perimeter trail, ending up in the hide overlooking Poole Harbour and the salt marsh. A few birds about, Grey heron, Greenshank and Redshank, Widgeon, Teal, Shelduck and allegedly Spoonbills but they were too far away to be sure. An Egret kept popping up in front of us too.By one we’d eaten our lunch and were getting cold so we headed off to the beach, viewpoint and back to the cafe for another coffee.
Finally left just before three and back in the sunshine before four.
Somehow we managed to walk 10.2 miles!
Fire lit and tea drunk so now trying to avoid nodding off before having to cook dinner.
