Brown time….

of year before the snow, from rich chestnut coloured bracken tangles, through larch needle tawny to flaxen grasses.
Quite warm today, 7°.
The viaduct is part of the long distance path , the Dava trail, 24 miles across the Dava moor from Grantown to Forres, with no accessible villages in between and no transport if you want to stop half way.
Today the woods here were full of Crossbills, Fieldfares and Wrens.
