Attempting to make a mountain out of a molehill

There was a number of these wee hills in one area where Bertie and I were walking this morning but, as usual, there was no sign of the little critter that built them. It was a good morning for wildlife. Bertie spotted three female red deer at quite close quarters but I wasn’t quick enough on the draw to get my phone out to snap them before they got our scent and headed up the hill out of sight. Later, two white tailed eagles flew lazily overhead and landed in a nearby group of trees. A few years ago a pair of eagles nested in these same trees, maybe these two were checking out the site.
