Squirrel-proof?

The little tray below the birdfeeder is a great attraction to many species, not just the small birds.

The feeder prevents access to all but the small birds - the tits, robin, dunnock and, our latest visitors, tree sparrows -  but everything else feeds on the stuff dropped by them. There were five jackdaws vying for position on the tray, two magpies and a wood pigeon in the queue and this cheeky squirrel whose acrobatics were amusing to watch until it settled in to clear the board.

It was so bold that it was not put out by my opening the back door and firing off a few photos (without the dreaded four panes of dirty glass between), only running away when I walked towards it.

For such a grandstand view it was a pity that the light was so poor, even at 8.20am.
