‘It's December and Santa is here!’

Santa parade launching the annual Edinburgh Christmas Charity Festival, which takes place today and tomorrow in Inverleith Park

The festival originates in a charity walk started by ex-Marine PT instructor Terry Crossley over 50 years ago. Over the years, it has added other charity events, including five and 10k runs, a 1-mile ‘tattierun’ (runners carry a bag of potatoes on their shoulders and get to keep the potatoes), and a ‘toddle’ for charity as well as Santa’s Grotto and other attractions.
