bird snapped hurriedly through dirty double glazing.

Kathy: what's that spotted bird? There are two of them.
Me: A starling of some kind

       The last time Kathy spied a new bird at the feeders the camera wasn't handy.

       "A Eurasian species that was introduced in New York in 1890-91, it soon spreed across the continent. Abundant, bold, aggressive, it often competes successfully with native species for nest holes."
