Birders

Sue met me in the car this morning, and we decided to seize the moment of sunshine and go out to Sauvie Island. We had no binoculars but saw bald eagles, sandhill cranes, trumpeter and tundra swans, ducks, geese, and mudhens, and we were feeling quite pleased with ourselves till we ran into this group of intrepid birders who had been out there for hours and were able to identify a couple of hundred little brown birds we could scarcely see.

The mountains shone white against the blue sky and we were happy to be out there in the cold.

Thanks for your kind and enthusiastic response to yesterday's.
