Bacon rolls and chat whilst we tried to decide what to do today. I seem to have picked up a cold but hopefully it won’t develop much further than it is at the moment….
Of course as soon as we agreed the weather wasn’t nice enough for a walk at St Abbs the sun broke through, but by then we’d already decided to come back to Edinburgh for the rest of the weekend and had packed our stuff and got Paisley into the car.
We dropped her at home then headed down to Leith to look round the market and buy some veg for tomorrow’s supper then had a good wander around Coburg House open studios. Lots to see, and a tasty coffee and cake too. S bought a lovely copper wall hanging and I was tempted by a little necklace but decided against it in the end. Longer consideration over a painting by Astrid Trug but S decided to sleep on it, then we went to Stockbridge for some more browsing and wandering. As we drove back through town it was absolutely heaving with people. Doesn’t feel like I’ve been to town for ages and we may brave it tomorrow, but it was good to be home with a mince pie and a cup of tea. We watched a couple of episodes of the new Crown Series then walked down to Isola for some Sardinian food. Lovely as always…some delicious burrata and warm cherry tomato salad followed by seafood pasta…mine with prawns and asparagus and S had black pasta with huge juicy scallops. Too full for dessert! Relaxing day.
