Morning light on the pond .....

..... although it had been very cold overnight there was no sign of any ice on the pond so the ducks were free to paddle wherever they wanted.

The Mallards on the small pond were keeping a watchful eye on the folk walking around. When I came up to the edge of the water they paddled en masse towards me ..... think they were hoping that I might have some food but they were out of luck. No doubt someone arriving later in the morning would have a bag of bread.
