Another Day

I was in a meeting today where things quickly went from "Hallo" to "Pete, you can now show us all of the functions of this tool we have..."

It would have been nice to have a little bit of time to prepare for that.  But - deep breath - and here we go.  A totally extemporised demonstration for 50 minutes.

That sort of thing always tires me out.

At the end of that "That was super, Pete, can you present that to our Power Users next week?"  Ok no pressure - 50 people with at least 300 questions.

You would almost think I was good at this.

The book was a new discovery for me - and I am always looking for new things - I'm not going to be Alexander The Great - "When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer."

Not sure who the quote comes from.

I'm not really a conqueror though, more of a bridge builder.

Anyway the book is "The Worst Journey In The World" by Apsley Cherry-Garrard.
