Sitting on the fence

I've started to put food out for the birds again and they're homing in on it just in time for this cold snap.  Unfortunately for them, a sparrowhawk is also homing in on its subsequent giant bird table and yesterday, there were a lot of pigeon feathers on the lawn and we haven't seen a pigeon since. The other birds seem to be over the catastrophe though.
