Life through the lens...

Howden Minster

Howden is a stunning little gem of a place, beautiful old buildings and charming shops, all pivoting round this surprise of a half ruined minister.
Can’t fault a town with 3 wine shops!
Wine and cheese purchased along with two pheasants, venison burgers and some Christmas decorations.
A small town filled with wonderful individual shops. Just my kind of place. We will be back, and next time have a look inside the Minster.

Then it was on to the Star at Sancton for our Christmas treat.
The place was beautifully decorated for Christmas both inside and out.
Lunch was superb as always, especially my starter.
‘Peck of Beverley smoked haddock cake with lightly curried onion purée, samphire, coriander oil, coronation mayonnaise and toasted coconut.’ ( see extra)
Ben Cox chef patron is a genius with his combinations of textures and flavours.
His wife Lindsey runs a very warm and friendly front of house.
A real ‘ Star’ here in Yorkshire. Look forward to returning next year.
By the way it has been another glorious sunny day. 2C.

Nearly forgot the Advent Calendar Joke. No 8.

A police officer spotted a man driving along the motorway whilst knitting.
He got his attention and shouted “ Pull over!”
The man looked back and said. “ Well I think of it as a jumper.”
