The train now standing...

...at Platform 2 was the Christmas dining train from which we had just embarked after a rather tasty Christmas lunch.

Today, M and I joined JohnRH and W on the North Norfolk Railway for Christmas Lunch.  As you can see dusk was falling by the time we got back.

We're always impressed by the volunteers who run the lunch service, always efficient and always so chatty and friendly.  We all very much enjoyed the whole experience, and the time flew by.  The cold weather meant that the windows steamed up rather a lot, however, the volunteers think of everything and one of them helpfully appeared with one of those rubber bladed devices that one uses to clean windows, so that we could clear the steam and enjoy the view.

The extra is of John and W, apologies W, you seem a little blurry, I suspect it was either my poor photography or perhaps you moved slightly...or maybe it was the wine!

PS: The wavy cable draped over the train lights up at night when the railway runs the 'Lights Express' service which it runs on certain evenings every December.
