Swan Lake on ice

Most of the Heritage Park loch was covered in a layer of frost over the ice.

Fortunately there were a few small areas of open water so the birds did have limited room for swimming. The two swans had a narrow strip but if they wanted to reach the larger area where many folk will feed the birds they had to lumber across the ice in a rather cumbersome fashion.

The extras show their lone offspring who was trying to take off from the ice and join his parents ….. a rather ungainly take off
and landing.
