Icedial

Today's the day ...................... when the clock stopped

Sundials really don't work well in the winter.

For a start, the sun is so low in the sky that it often doesn't manage to reach the sundial - because trees and bushes get in the way.  Then, of course, today there was the problem of ice crystals on the pointer, not to mention the dial.  So even if the sun had been casting a shadow, you wouldn't have been able to tell the time.

How would they have managed in the olden days .................?

PS I believe this is some sort of special blip number that I have reached today?  Forgive me - I just lost all track of time .....................
