Testing the temperature

This lizard spent a few minutes deciding whether the sun was hot enough, peeping out from behind the shutter on our garden shed. It was hot enough in shelter, but there was a chilly wind. A good early hour or so in the garden, planting out aubergine and chard plants and harvesting broad beans, before coming back to the village to buy mussels from the coquillage van. A message from E put my mind at rest that they had landed safely on their return from Italy.
