Hanging out

Relaxed day with the wee ones. Started with them creeping in to tell me their clocks said it was time to wake up and we snuggled up for a while but then it was time for Nutella porridge (because ‘it’s the weekend’ when all good stuff is allowed!). Got ourselves toasty with that and then piled onto the sofa for cups of tea for grown ups and some nonsense on the TV. H got ready to go to meet her friend Lauren and we then had a quick change to walk Mx to the leisure centre for his swimming lesson. AR really didn’t want to go….hanging behind, moaning, crying etc etc all the way there, but became quite engaged when we got there and watched him learning to kick his legs….he was running in the water rather than kicking at first but you could definitely see some progress even in the half hour. AR downloaded Duolingo and started learning Arabic then switched to French.. see how long either lasts!
Home and we made butternut squash soup for lunch and Ty came round to help Mt sort the wiring on the outside lights which needed lots of testing of circuits and amateur electrician chat.
After lunch I played battleships with AR then we did some drawing…filling a page with as many different ghosts as we could think of (really tested my poor drawing skills!)
She was really pleased with her book of shows and is very excited to go and see Matilda tomorrow so that was a success. Chatted about Christmas arrangements then we all went to the park to get some fresh air and walk the dogs. Tried to use the stamp on rockets but it was so cold they kept sticking
I then got the train up to T&Kt’s and although T was at work we had a nice cosy evening in, we made some chicken stir fry and watched a not very good detective series. Kt has a cold brewing too so we both coughed our way through then had an early night.
