Scattered Polaroids

Bit of a weird morning, Bill took Beano out for a walk first thing and found a cat up the road who had been hit by a car. One by one the boys disappeared up the road with thermoses and one of Beano’s blankets, and eventually after many many phone calls managed to find a vet who’d agree to take him. Us girls (and Matt, who’d hurt his foot during yesterday’s epic trek) had a slightly sombre continental breakfast.

Later on, Paul, Elly, Brown, Soph and myself headed to Polruan and caught the little passenger ferry over to Fowey. We had a little wander and went a bit mad in the Tarquin’s gin shop, then stopped for the cream tea Paul had been dreaming of. It was delicious. Caught the boat back over and met Maddy, Bill and Beano, who’d walked there from the Lansallos house. We had a couple of drinks in the pub on the harbour, then headed home to see Matt, who’d elected to stay on the sofa with his foot up.

I had to have a little nap in the afternoon, while Paul and Elly cooked an epic roast dinner. We raised a glass to the cat, who we’d named Juan Sallos.

In the evening we played Who Wants to be a Billionaire (a quiz arranged by Bill), which was hilarious but so complicated that Bill couldn’t even keep up.
