Two sides of Glasgow

It was OH's birthday, but he didn't want a fuss. I thought it would be nice to go out for the day, but the weather wasn't great. So we went into town, walked along the river and up to the necropolis to build up an appetite for lunch. We had cocktails and a lovely lunch, then went for a wander round the craft stalls at Candleriggs, a brief detour through George Sq to see the Christmas attractions (beat a hasty retreat, it was mobbed), then a wee wander round the shops. Turned out to be a pretty good day out.

The tall monument is of John Knox,  founder of the Presbyterian Church and the statue in front is of a Tennant, presumably of the brewery family, in a very relaxed and informal pose.
